Return back to Sport 2021

Dear Parents,

It gives me great pleasure to announce that our SUMMER SPORTS’ PRACTICES and CULTURAL CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES will begin on Monday 8 February 2021.

I true Redhill style, we are determined to thrive amidst any challenges. As such, we have introduced a number of exciting sporting initiatives in 2021 that will help us maximise the health and well-being of each and every student. Sport does not only involve playing for a team, competing or winning awards, but also the mental, physical and emotional strength and discipline that only physical exercise can achieve.

Here’s how we plan to do it:

  • It is now compulsory for each student to participate in at least ONE sporting activity per term.
  • Grade 7 – 9 students will now receive Physical Education (P.E.) progress comments on their school report so you can track their progress from term to term.
  • Attendance registers will be taken at practices and matches. These attendance records will contribute towards any sports’ awards, colours and captains being elected.
  • 2021 will see the launch of our new Redhill Sports’ Academies: Cricket, Soccer and Hockey. We look forward to sharing more information with you in the coming weeks.

Please also note that up-to-date information can be found on SOCS - http://sports.redhill.co.za/ - including the relevant practice times, fixtures, and weekly results.

I would like to thank our phenomenal Redhill community in advance for your support as we re-open our sports’ programme in the context of COVID-19. We look forward to your child(ren) falling into the expected practices and disciplines required by their chosen sports, and watching as they reap many rewards as a result! Please note that once students sign up for a sport, we expect them to attend all practices, wear the correct sports’ kit and remain committed for the remainder of the term.

I look forward to sharing your child’s progress as the year unfolds.

Warmest wishes for a healthy and memorable term ahead!
